Merry Christmas

I had to work on Christmas eve this year so I took the train to work and then Adam and the boys picked me up where we begun our celebration for the next couple of days.  First we went to see Grandpa Cookie, both Adam and I could listen to the stories of his life forever.  The boys didn't pack any toys or things to keep them busy so after about 1.5 hours they were done so we said our goodbyes and headed to dinner.  It has become a tradition to go to dinner on Christmas Eve so we headed to Wingers where we enjoyed some yummy food.  After dinner we headed to the Baker's to give them their gifts and Glen to read us the story of Christs birth.  We had originally planned to drive to Willard Bay to look at the lights but we stayed extra long at their house and ended up going home just before 10:00.  The boys did awesome and went right to bed so Santa could come, good thing for me since I still had quite a few things to do!

This year the boys had no desire to decorate the tree.  Aiden never put a decoration on and Avery did about 10 before he disappeared.  The boys slept until 8:00 and then anxiously met me in the front room.  There are somethings I believe you don't grow out of and waking up early Christmas morning is one of those for me.  I was up just after 7:00 trying to be good and not wake them up!

Any present that was wrapped like a Wii game he would get very excited then it was a little let down when it was a movie.

For this particular gift it happened to be a computer game he had asked for so he was excited!!

Avery's gift from Aiden.  Sometimes they can be so loving with each other and other times they only seem to fight

Of course you can't forget the 4 legged members of the family
Hatchet will not play with her toys if anyone is watching so I was quite surprised I was able to get this picture right after we gave it to her.

Abby had so many choices of toys from her stocking I think it took her awhile to decide where to start.
After some fun opening gifts, eating breakfast, and chilling for awhile we headed to my parents house for Christmas lunch and presents there.

The kids were waiting so good for everyone to get settled so they could open.  I love watching these munchkins grow so big.

Then you have the biggest kid of them all.  Aiden, Avery, and Alex all received drum sets from Papa & Gram.  Papa played with the drum set for a little bit.  Seeing this reminded me of his little piano he used to have and I loved to play it and record my songs then listen to them back, I know it is hiding somewhere I guess we should find it and pull out for Papa!  We tried to let them keep the drum sets at their house but they didn't like that idea too well, needless to say we now have 2 drum sets at our house.  Both of the boys love them and thank goodness their playroom is downstairs to muffle the sound some.
We got a great family picture (thanks Aiden for cooperating!) and then headed off to Magna to Adam's aunt's house for more Baker fun!  It was a great day full of hectic madness that has become the story of our Christmas celebration for the last 9 years.
